Director of Development

The Director of Development will be among the first full time staff hired by the foundation. The function of this position is to oversee all grant funding including reporting systems, program outcomes and evaluations and work towards sustainability. This position will develop board policies and oversee all training and development.

Reports to Director of Programs

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that programs are grounded in research and are evidence-based.
  • Develops best practices and policy recommendations for the WJRF board.
  • Manages grant reporting systems, monitors program outcomes, completes program evaluations.
  • Gathers data via surveys and interviews, pre and post program evaluations
  • Oversees all training and development for WJRF employees.
  • Facilitates a youth leadership program with the goal of including youth voices in WJRF High School Outreach program.
  • Communicates with community partners such as the county jail to ensure successful outcomes of the programs that are provided. 
  • Works to secure funding to sustain programs as well as capacity building and expansion of new programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to organize, manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of computer skills, database management
  • A master’s degree in social work or a related field. Minimum two years work experience.
  • 7+ years work experience will substitute for the master’s degree.
  • Passionate and committed to working with children and families.

  • Enjoys working in a diverse and inclusive setting
  • Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed

Amachi Match Specialist

The Amachi Match Specialist will be among the first full time staff hired by the foundation. The function of this position is to increase the capacity of the Amachi mentoring program through recruiting and training of mentors. The position will supply ongoing support to mentors, mentees and caregivers. 

Reports to Director of Programs

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Lead in recruiting, training, and nurturing volunteer mentors
  • Develop ongoing relationship with community churches and civic organizations to engage support of the program 
  • Performs interviews and home visits with mentors and mentees
  • Make mentor/mentee matches and provide ongoing case management
  • Conducts criminal background checks, CA/N checks, and sex offender registry for all potential volunteer mentors
  • Check references for mentors
  • Develop a system to monitor all mentee referrals and matches
  • Learn and be familiar with the software program used to monitor mentors/mentees/activities
  • Be familiar with how to report child abuse and neglect and make any referrals as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.

Primary Location: WJRF Office (Frankfort, KY)


Social Worker

The Social Worker will be among the first full time staff hired by the foundation. The function of this position is to provide intensive and/or therapeutic social work services through the assessment of child and family needs. This position will collaborate with community partners to help ensure children and families are able to have basic needs met and are empowered to advocate for themselves, to work towards self sufficiency.

Reports to Director of Programs

Performance Responsibilities:

  • WJRF direct point of contact with child and families
  • Document all referrals and communication with families in software system
  • Provide families with support by ensuring they are aware of benefits through CHFS and other community resources including mental health, substance use, and any additional referrals
  • Assist caregivers with legal paperwork including custody and guardianship
  • Meet with family members who are incarcerated
  • Keep and provide an updated list of community resources in Frankfort and in surrounding counties
  • Determine barriers to families success and work with family to identify solutions to eliminating those barriers
  • Implement an evidenced-based parenting curriculum to incarcerated parents within the Franklin County Regional Jail and continue in a community based setting upon (the parent’s) re-entry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A master’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, marriage and family therapy or a related field. Minimum two years work experience.
