More than 250 county inmates are parents of Franklin County children and youth. We believe in the power of redemption, restoration, and resilience of children and families.
Parenting Classes
We have two amazing parenting class instructors who provide a 12-week men’s and women’s class inside the Franklin County Jail.
Video Visitation
Through a partnership with GTL and with the help of our volunteers to supervise, we are able to provide free video visitation to children/youth continuously. The WJRF contracts a part time employee to assist our families with visitation appointments. Contact us if you would like to learn more about this program.
A Familiar Voice
in partnership with the Paul Sawyer Public Library + the Franklin County Regional Jail
Named by a prisoner at FCRJ, A Familiar Voice is a literacy initiative that was established December 2019. Two WJRF board members facilitate the program, which is sponsored through Paul Sawyier Public Library. Ten prisoners recorded themselves reading a book to their child. The book, recording, and a book mark was mailed to the child. Twenty-one children received a mailed package for Christmas.
